Almost there

One sweet day is coming!  I’m so happy and excited.. and so is my honey:)   Its a road to forever happiness and we’d like to share it with you.  Things are still cooking up, but we’re excited to let you know.

Watch out for eleven809.

Pets’ health are treasures

My week was devastated with pet care problems.  I’ve always loved my cat as if she was my own baby.  She lived with us since she was a kitten.  We fed her well with good quality cat food.  She was dewormed, and spayed and was very domesticated.  In our home, she’s got here own bowl and own cup of fresh drinking water all the time.   She had a regular diet of Friskies for dry food and Whiskas for wet food.  Occasionally, I buy her fancy clothes and toys.  She was always called ‘my rich kid’.

I’ve never slacked on taking good care of her.  We observe here good toilet habits, frequent water intake, and regular healthy meals.  She sleeps in the most comfortable places, and even have her own favorite bed.  She stays inside the house 80% of the time.  The remaining 20% is spent infront of our house (she wears a collar) where she can basque in the sun in the morning and do her toilet thingy.

She’s recently celebrated her 8th birthday and we were all happy.  But in reality, she’s already around 48 years old in human age count.  Time and age is catching up with her.  She doesn’t grow so much in height or in features, but she’s definitely aging with finnesse.

Throughout her 8 wonderful years with us, she has never experienced serious accidents or illnesses.  We see through it that she copes well with her lifestyle.  The last serious illness she had was something like more than two years ago where her lower lip by bit by a poisonous insect.. and that was it.  We never had trips to the vet where her health was in compromise.  But this time it was different. more…

My cat’s 8th birthday

I nurture a black 8 year old cat, and we treat her as family.  She recently celebrated her birthday last 26th of April.  Since I was out the whole day, we decided to celebrate it the next day.

Together with my Mom and two sisters (Belle and Mimo), we bought some food for the celebration.  We had ice creams, donuts and a cake.  We had the cake personalized with a greeting for her.  (We wonder how the baker reacted to the name "Ma. Ebony" lol).

Coloring the flag of Bloggers

Last April 26, I was able to attend the fourth iBlog event (because I missed the last one, though I pre registered).  Well, this year, I was able to push back the work schedule a little bit, and took the whole Saturday off for a blogger centric event.

This is my first time to attend an iBlog event, and busy as I was, I didn’t even know what the agenda for the event was.  I was surprised to find that Morph was one of the event sponsors (as I already know a few people from Morph).  Wikipilipinas was the most interesting sponsor for me, aside from Morph.   The event was held at the Law Theatre, and it was just right for the number of participants.  They offered free wifi too for those who wanted to blog during the event and even record the event itself.   The whole experience was enjoyable.

Morph created a forum at  http://iblog4.morphexchange.com/.  I was thankful I could twit using my phone and the free wifi during the event.  The morning session’s topics were quite interesting, but its quite the opposite for the afternoon’s session.  IMHO, the politics discussion was very draining.  We were lucky enough to have been able to use one of the power outlets in the afternoon, so that we can divert our attention from the politics tainted discussion of using blogging as a tool for the upcoming 2010 Elections.

Throughout the event, various voices were heard.  I saw some of the personalities behind the famous blogs and that alone was quite a happy thought.  Many of the audience were pro bloggers needing more encouragement and advices from those who are already pro blogging.  Well, pro blogging is really not quite the career for me, as I always run out of time to blog.  Not everyone is really cut for this work, but I really admire those who have the courage to quit a day’s job for blogging.

Everyone in the room is excited whenever a certain topic starts or ends.  It marks the start of another blog pitching session. ;) I didn’t really have the courage to market my blog unlike the others, though I’m already satisfied that a couple from I.ph already announced their blog.  More visibility for I.ph, the better. :) more…

Days and Nights in beautiful Bohol

This year is very special for me.  My honey and I long planned for a vacation trip to Bohol this month of April.  Its his first time to be there, while its my second visit to Bohol.  Even so, I was also very excited about visiting Bohol again, since the last time was really a very short visit (since we just island hopped from Cebu).

The schedule for Bohol visit was perfect for the tour, but not for the tourist! haha..  Our flight was scheduled at 5:30am.  My honey was coming from Fairview and the night/day before was also hectic.  We didn’t have the chance to sleep at all!  It was actually a very tiring night before the flight.  I had to pack some more items that night, and I really had to rush complete an item due for one of my projects that time.  My honey, thinking that it would be more of a headache to sleep for just an hour or so, decided to pass up on sleeping and just rest while we were on the way to Bohol.  It could’ve been perfect, except that, the hardest part was actually to try and stay awake while waiting for the plane! :D

We arrived at 7am and the tourist guide was already there.  It could’ve been nice to hit the day tour, except that we were so exhausted that we’d rather stay in bed for awhile.. Haha! Talk about sleeping out for half a day in what could’ve been a place for maximizing tour and gimmick!  Oh, but before the gratifying sleep, we had (one of ) the best breakfast of our days in the restaurant beside our resort/hotel.  It was called “Powder Keg“.

That afternoon and evening, we spent it walking by the beach, and checking out the food and the bars and restos.  The beach of Panglao is a white beach.  Some of the natives are proud to say that their beach is as white as what is found in Boracay and is not as crowded.  Its true that the beach is as white as the sands of Boracay (as my Honey says so), and I certainly agree that its less crowded in Panglao.  There were many foreigners too, but not as what I usually see in news reports regarding Boracay.  I was very happy to be there with my honey, just relaxing and having fun. After the first day and night in Bohol, the next day was allotted for the day tour. more…

For July 1

A father is defined as the male parent of a child. Like mothers, fathers may be categorised according to their biological, social or legal relationship with the child. Historically, the biological relationship paternity has been determinative of fatherhood. However, proof of paternity has been intrinsically problematic and so social rules often determined who would be regarded as a father e.g. the husband of the mother.

Ubuntu days are here

Freedom from Windows!

I am an opensource fanatic, and I hate Windows.

For so long a time already, I have been wanting to port my Windows hard drive to a Linux OS.. I just haven’t had the guts to do so.  Since the time I was working, I always used Linux.  I have tried Redhat, Mandrake (now known as Mandriva), SuSe, CentOS, Debian, and Sun Solaris.  I loved them all.  I’ve always felt that it fitted my workaholic nature.  Just seeing the PC in Linux OS gave me the silent command of work.  Ergo, I always sat down infront of my Linux den and started working right away.  It gave me the feeling that I will never waste a second when I work in Linux environment, unlike in Windows.  more…

To Palawan with Herman

My honey and I went to Palawan for vacation this weekend.  It was a well deserved break that I was waiting for.. to release all stresses and enjoy the summer.

Disclaimer: This post is a long one, but I do hope you’ll enjoy it.  :)

The Hotel

My honey went in a day earlier to Palawan.  He stayed at the hotel for one whole day and night.  We were settled in to stay at the Legend Hotel.  Everything was pre-planned and was organized for us.  We were fetched from the airport by the hotel’s free transportation service, and were greeted with warm welcome at the hotel’s lobby.  We were even given a necklace that was made of wooden carvings and of shells as a token.  We had free drinks at the time of arrival at the lobby where the orientation took place.

The hotel also offered free breakfast for those who stayed there.  It was free in a sense that there is no separate cost for the food.  Since our group had purchased a packaged tour with them included as the hotel accomodation, we had an exclusive lunch on our first day, 21st of April.  This was an awesome meal.. I can still recall the taste of the very palatable “Tiyan ng Barilles” (whatever that fish is).  To add up to this sumptuous meal, was their chopsuey and seafood soup.  And the favorite drink of this island, the buko juice.  more…

Just another event

I planned to wake up early… hehe, but that was just the plan. :P

I forgot to tell Tin how to get to our house, so she sent me an SMS at around 6:30am asking for directions, after that, next thing I knew, they were knocking at the gate, and I was still sleeping!

It was their first time to get to my place. Note that I haven’t had a bath since Saturday night. Hehe.. must’ve been a shame not to bath on your golden birthday!!! Bwahahahah… more…

Before Xmas eve

While I was in Church that dawn, I asked my mom to prepare the pasta for my cooking. As you can see, I’m rushing to finish things up before Christmas Eve. I have to cook two dishes before noon, because this is my gift for my partner for this Christmas. I don’t want to miss the opportunity to cook again and for a special person, of course.

I have had no sleep yet. I arrived at home at 4:10am. I went straight to the kitchen to start cooking. Unfortunately, since I am dizzy from lack of sleep, I decided to doze for an hour. I woke up at around 5:30 am to start cooking. Sleepy as I was, I needed to finish cooking before noon. So, I took the ingredients from the freezer and set them off to cool.. then came the chopping of the ingredients… During times when the mixture was still in the bowl, I had to prepare the ingredients for the other dish. So, I was literally doing two dishes at the same time. Whew! more…
